Rumors are flying high that the Dark Knight 2 is a GO! Christopher Nolan will be back directing, which is no surprise. However, some of the other cast rumors seem a little out there if not completely false. Rachel Weisz as CatWoman? Robert Pattinson as the Joker? Ok Weiz is kind of hot, but can she really pull off the cat suit? Don’t me wrong she is a good actress so i guess it might be more about getting a good actress than somebody that will just look good. On the hand Robert Pattinson taking over for Heath Ledger as the joker seems like a total smoke screen. Sure he was good in twilight and will probably become a big star, but i don’t think he has the chops to come anywhere close to what Heath brought to the charanter. What do you guys think?

Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday in a downtown
“The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news,” said Warners president Alan Horn and Warners Picture Group president Jeff Robinov. “The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.”
Ledger was discovered by a housekeeper who came to wake him for a massage appointment he had scheduled the previous day. A spokesperson for the New York Police Department stated that prescription pills, including sleeping pills were found near the body and an accidental overdose was most likely the cause of death, but actual cause of death would have to be determined by the medical examiner.
Ledger’s career began in 1999 when he appeared in the Shakespeare inspired teen comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, but it was his role in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain that brought him critical success and an Academy Award nomination. Ledger has already gained tremendous buzz for his portrayal of The Joker in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming The Dark Knight. No word yet if Ledger’s death will affect the release of the Batman sequel.
Ledger leaves behind a daughter, Matilda Rose, who he had with actress Michelle Williams. The couple had recently separated.

While promoting his new film 3:10 to Yuma, actor Christian Bale stated that co-star Russell Crowe would be making a cameo in next year’s The Dark Knight. “Russell’s going to actually be in the new Batman movie, which is a big surprise and I want to reveal it to everybody right now,” said Bale.
It’s unclear what role, if any Crowe would portray in the film. If Bale was serious about the cameo, it’s possible Crowe’s role could prepare him to play a villain in a future film.

During an interview for his new film 3:10 to Yuma, actor Christian Bale told reporters that he would not be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the recently announced Justice League film. As for Bale’s reaction to not being approaced for the film? “It’d be better if it doesn’t tread on the toes of what we’re doing, though I feel that it would be better if it comes out after Batman 3.”
Production on Justice League is scheduled to begin next year for a Summer 2009 release. Reports have stated that both Batman and Superman will appear in the film, but neither Christian Bale who played Batman in 2005’s Batman Begins and next year’s The Dark Knight nor Brandon Routh who donned the blue tights for last year’s Superman Returns and the proposed Man of Steel will reprise their roles for the film.
There is no clear reason for the decision, but budget constraints is top on the list of possibilities. Another reason could be the recent rumor that Justice League will actually be a motion-capture film in the vain of Beowulf or James Cameron’s Avatar. Regardless, are fans willing to have different actors play the same roles in competing films? Only time will tell.

Actor Christian Bale told the Chicago Sun-Times that shooting in Chicago for the past few months has been very pleasant and they haven’t received the media blitz that Angelina Jolie has received while filming Wanted there.
“We have been very much left alone here in Chicago,” explained Bale. “Everyone has been very respectful and there haven’t been any problems. Obviously, when you’re filming such a huge movie you can’t keep filming locations secret, but there haven’t been any incidents.”
As for why he hasn’t received the media frenzy that has been bestowed on Ms. Jolie? “Unlike Angelina and Brad, I guess - thank God! - nobody gives a damn about me,” said Bale. “And I ain’t gonna complain about it…I’m here to work and so is she. When I work, I totally block out just about everything else and just concentrate on the film.” Bale does expect to get a full report on Wanted from co-star Morgan Freeman who is currently doing double duty for both films.
And how is Bale holding up filming during Chicago’s notoriously humid summer’s? “I only worked in Chicago for about a week and a half [for Batman Returns],” said Bale. “This is the first time I’ve spent a decent amount of time in Chicago. I’ve liked it a great deal. Everyone was telling me I was going to have a horrendous time simply because of it being summer and the humidity in the Batsuit would be horrible. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be…But there has been a certain amount of pooling of sweat following me every time I move.”
