Lamborghini CEO Stephen Winkelmann has confirmed that the Lamborghini LP640 will appear in the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight.  “The [LP640] will be in the next Batman movie, although we are not paying anything,” says Winkelmann.  “We do not pay for product placement.  And we do not allow our cars to be placed just anywhere.  It has to be perfect.  Something like the next Batman film is suitable for our image.  We will not be in films that we don’t like.”

Winkelmann told Brandweek the inclusion of the car in The Dark Knight is aimed at increasing sales of Lamborghini in the U.S. by ten percent.  No news yet if the $350,000 sports car will be the new Batmobile or driven by Bruce Wayne or one of the villains.  With Lamborghini obviously particular about their cars image, my money is on Wayne.
