AARON ECKHART DISCUSSES HIS UPCOMING ROLE AS TWO-FACE
Sun, Feb 25, 2007
MTV.com recently spoke with Aaron Eckhart about his upcoming role as Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Dark Knight. ”I am excited,” says Eckhart. ”Christopher Nolan is an amazing director. It’s another movie that’s a dream come true.”
Eckhart explained the comparisons of Bruce Wayne to Harvey Dent, Gotham City’s youngest district attorney whose face becomes deformed on one side after a criminal throws sulfuric acid on him. ”Batman is a complex character, and Two-Face comes a little bit from the same world,” explains Eckhart. ”But [at the same time] he’s apart from it. I’m looking for the tension between the two, the similarities between the two. I want to find what’s similar to Batman and then find what’s opposite to him.”
It is unclear whether Harvey Dent will actually become Two-Face in the movie or if The Dark Knight will simply set the character up as the villain for the third film. ”I’m Harvey Dent…then I go into Harvey Two-Face,” says Eckhart. As for the rumor that The Joker himself will be the criminal to scar Dent and turn him into Two-Face? ”I think I’ll be killed [if I comment on that] - I’m not even sure I can say as much as I have,” jokes Eckhart. ”There are snipers looking at me right now!”
