WARNER BROS. PLANS JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA PIC

Warner Bros. has hired writing team Kiernan and Michele Mulroney to write a feature script for DC comic fave Justice League of America. Fans of the series have long clamoured for a feature version of the superhero team which has included mega-superheroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash.
Warner Bros. once scrapped plans for Batman vs. Superman, instead deciding to revive the once flailing franchises. With the success of Batman Begins and Superman Returns and planned sequels for both, it is uncertain if two of DC’s most famous characters would be included in the film and if Christian Bale (Batman Begins) and Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) would reprise their roles in an ensemble piece. The news also questions plans for film versions of Wonder Woman and Flash.
Another problem facing a potential JLA film is the various producers involved in the Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman films. ”The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves,” said Warner prexy of production Jeff Robinov.
Writers Keiran (brother of actor Dermot Mulroney) and Michele Mulroney previously worked on Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the upcoming Mirrors starring Keifer Sutherland.
